Here are the top three stories in Santa Barbara today:
- The Santa Barbara Police Department is investigating the death of a man who was found in the surf on East Beach on the afternoon of Wednesday , Apr. 19. Police said they are investigating the incident as a suspicious death. According to SBPD PIO Ethan Ragsdale, before officers arrived on the scene, a bystander discovered the body and an AMR paramedic unit was unable to revive the man. (KEYT)
- Last weekend, more than 75 volunteers helped restore Santa Barbara’s front-country trails at Skofield Park. The heavily-trafficked trails have been damaged by foot traffick, as well as the recent winter storms, washouts, rockslides, and downed trees. The volunteers were able to repair about 4.5 miles of trail. The locations of the next big restoration event, which is scheduled for Jun. 10, will be announced in early May. - This weekend, Apr. 21 through Apr. 23, Santa Barbara jugglers will flock to the 47th annual Isla Vista Juggling Festival at the Isla Vista Theater, about 11.6 miles from Santa Barbara. The festival will include shows, specialty acts, comedy acts, unicycle shows, workshops for the public to learn juggling, and more. The festival is also a fundraiser for Standing Together to End Sexual Assault, formerly named the Santa Barbara Rape Crisis Center. (Santa Barbara News-Press)
