Car Crashes Into Water Main, Santa Monica Whole Foods Floods
A car crashed into a building on Montana Avenue, causing a water main to break and flooding a Whole Foods store in Santa Monica.

SANTA MONICA, CA — A car crashed into a Santa Monica Whole Foods Tuesday, slamming into a water main that broke and flooded the store and alley along Montana Avenue.
The water main break and flooding was reported about 4:15 p.m. in the 1400 block of Montana Avenue, near 15th Street, according to Santa Monica fire officials.
Firefighters had stopped the main break by 5:30 p.m.

Whole Foods had reported flooding behind and inside the store, a team member told Patch. The store closed temporarily to clean up.
Video from the scene showed water behind the stores in the parking lot where the vehicle had crashed. It's unclear if the driver was injured.
