DUI, Driver's License Checkpoint Planned For Westside Friday
A DUI and driver's license checkpoint is planned for the Westside this Friday, police said.

WESTWOOD, CA — A DUI and driver's license checkpoint is slated for the Westside Friday night, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The checkpoint near Westwood and Century City will be at Santa Monica Boulevard and Beverly Glen Boulevard from 7 p.m. to midnight.
Police are also planning a DUI checkpoint at Manchester and Normandie avenues on Thursday from 7 p.m. to midnight.

"Sobriety Checkpoints are placed in locations based on collision statistics and frequency of DUI arrests," LAPD said in a news release. "Officers will be looking for signs of alcohol and/or drug impairment and checking drivers for proper licensing."
Funding for the checkpoints and saturation patrol is provided to the LAPD by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
