Firefighters Battle Brush Fire Near 10 Freeway
Santa Monica firefighters responded to a brush fire near the Santa Monica (10) Freeway Monday morning.

SANTA MONICA, CA — All westbound lanes of the Santa Monica (10) Freeway were temporarily closed Monday afternoon as Santa Monica firefighters battled a brush fire, officials said. It appeared to be near a homeless camp next to the freeway offramp.
The fire was reported about 10:49 a.m. near Lincoln and Olympic boulevards, Santa Monica fire officials said.
Westbound 10 Freeway lanes were closed near the Lincoln Boulevard offramp and a SigAlert was in effect at 11:34 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

Drivers were urged to avoid the area for possible delays and hazards while firefighters worked to battle the flames.
