11-Year-Old Boxer Dies, Taken Off Life Support After Crash
"His heart kept beating for almost 15 minutes even after life support was removed, a fighter until the very end."
SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA — An 11-year-old boxer was taken off life support over the weekend after he was struck by a vehicle earlier this month, according to his coach.
Pure Heart Muay Thai student Kevin Ouda was jogging with his team the morning of Dec. 21 when he was hit on North First Street in an unincorporated area near El Cajon and taken to Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego with head trauma, his coach, James Gregory, wrote on a GoFundMe page for Kevin, who underwent surgery for his injuries.
The boy's coach told news outlets that during the run, a dog lunged at the group and Kevin jumped into the street to avoid it, where he was struck.
