5 Arrested At East County Checkpoint
The checkpoint took place from 8:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. near the intersection of Mission Gorge Road and state Route 125.

SANTEE, CA -- Five people were arrested Saturday night during a DUI checkpoint in Santee. The checkpoint took place from 8:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. near the intersection of Mission Gorge Road and state Route 125, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.
Sheriff's officials said nearly 1,000 cars drove through the intersection. More than 30 cars were directed to a secondary inspection.
Four people were arrested for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol, while one person allegedly drove under the influence of drugs. Another six people were issued citations for driving with a suspended or revoked driver's license, officials said.
