Bomb Squad Removing Live Ordinance From San Diego Building

The San Diego bomb squad was called to the scene to assist the fire department.

SAN DIEGO, CA — A bomb squad has been dispatched to a fire station in East County, San Diego, on Wednesday, the San Diego Sheriff's Department says.

Shortly after 11 a.m., the bomb squad was called to the scene in the 1300 block of Tavern Road in Alpine to take custody of some "apparent military-style ordnance that a citizen dropped off for disposal," a sheriff's lieutenant says.

No other information was immediately available.
