SANTEE, CA — Catfish season returns this month to Santee Lakes.

Lakes 2, 3, 4 and 6 will be stocked with 3,000 pounds of channel catfish for the two-day Catfish Opener, according to event organizers.

"This year we are stocking 3,000 pounds of Catfish, not our usual 2,500 pounds, so chances are higher that our anglers will catch some great fish," event coordinator Greg Even said.
