CHP To Conduct DUI, Driver's License Checkpoint In San Diego County

EL CAJON, CA — Authorities will conduct a DUI and driver's license checkpoint Friday in San Diego County.

The California Highway Patrol's El Cajon Area office will hold the checkpoint at an undisclosed location within the unincorporated area of the county. During the checkpoint, officers will look for signs that drivers are under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

"All too often, members of our community are senselessly injured or killed on our local roadways by intoxicated or unlicensed drivers," said Captain Michael Monteagudo.

"Traffic volume permitting, all vehicles will be checked for drivers who are under the influence of alcohol or drugs or driving unlicensed," he added. "Our objective is to send a clear message to those individuals that consider driving and mixing alcohol or drugs, or drive when unlicensed, you will be caught, and your vehicle will be towed away."
