- More than 42,000 students in San Diego County still need to prove that they are up to date with their Tdap vaccination so they can enter school for the fall semester, according to area health and education officials. A new state law requires that children entering grades 7-12 prove they are current with the shot, which helps prevent pertussis, tetanus and diphtheria. Schools can provisionally enroll students without proof, but they'll have one month to show that they've been vaccinated.
- The Chargers are back on the field this weekend for the second of four preseason games. They'll be in Dallas to take on the Cowboys at 5 p.m. Sunday. Catch the game on NBC.
- It will be mostly sunny throughout the county today once the morning fog burns off. Highs today will be 68 to 73 degrees near the coast, 73 to 78 inland, 76 to 81 in the western valleys, 84 to 89 near the foothills, 81 to 91 in the mountains and 103 to 108 in the deserts.
