East County Shooting Leaves Man Dead, Another Under Arrest
The deadly gunfire happened in the 300 block of North First Street, according to the El Cajon Police Department.
EL CAJON, CA — A shooting in El Cajon left one man dead Thursday and a man who police said knew the victim under arrest.
The deadly gunfire erupted shortly after 10 a.m. in the 300 block of North First Street, just south of Madison Avenue, according to the El Cajon Police Department.
Paramedics took the victim, identified as Jaquis Holiday, 26, to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

About six hours after the shooting, the suspected gunman, 47-year-old Terrell Gibbs, contacted El Cajon police and agreed to surrender, ECPD Sgt. Brandon Stanley said.
"During the investigation, detectives determined that the victim and the suspect were known to each other and were involved in an argument before the shooting," the sergeant said.

Police did not immediately disclose details about the nature of the men's acquaintance.
