The El Cajon Police Department will be conducting a DUI checkpoint from 7 p.m. Sunday night until 3 a.m. Monday.
DUI checkpoints are conducted to identify offenders and get them off the street, as well as educate the public on the dangers of impaired driving.
"By publicizing these enforcement and education efforts, the El Cajon PD believes motorists can be deterred from drinking and drugged driving," El Cajon Lt. Randy Soulard said.
