The Santee Fire Department will host its annual catfish derby at Santee Lakes on July 12 from 6 to 11 a.m.. The derby is open to children ages 3 to 17.
Participants will receive a free day fishing permit, worms, raffle ticket, hot dog lunch and free door prizes while they last.
All interested participants must register by July 9 at santeefirefighters.org.
Note: Adults can help participants bait and cast, but not fish.
