Homicide Investigation Underway In East County
Deputies found a man with traumatic injuries inside an apartment in unincorporated El Cajon, officials said. He died at the scene.

EL CAJON, CA — Homicide detectives Tuesday were investigating the death of a man in San Diego's East County.
Deputies responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon at about 1:35 a.m. Tuesday at an apartment complex at 425 E. Bradley Ave. in unincorporated El Cajon, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies found a man suffering from traumatic injuries inside an apartment, Lt. Juan Marquez said. First responders began CPR and assumed lifesaving measures, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim's name was withheld pending family notification.
Homicide detectives were conducting an investigation, interviewing witnesses and gathering more evidence, Marquez said.

"At this stage of the investigation, the motivation and circumstances of the crime are still under investigation," Marquez said.
