Inmate Died Of Drug Overdose After Being Found Unresponsive In Santee Jail: Autopsy
Callen Lines, 31, was found unresponsive inside her cell at Las Colinas Detention and Reentry Facility, authorities said.
SANTEE, CA — An inmate who died at a hospital last spring after being found unresponsive inside her jail cell succumbed to a drug overdose, authorities said Wednesday.
Callen Lines, 31, was found unresponsive inside her jail cell around 7:25 p.m. May 12 at Las Colinas Detention and Reentry Facility in Santee, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office.
The facility's medical staff performed life-saving measures on Lines until she was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival, sheriff's Lt. Juan Marquez said. The San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office determined that Lines died of an accidental overdose of fentanyl and methamphetamine.

Lines, a resident of San Diego County, had been in jail since the previous day following her arrest on suspicion of theft-related charges and resisting a peace officer, Marquez said.
When she was booked into jail her intake screening urinalysis tested positive for meth, fentanyl and additional narcotics, Marquez said. It was unknown what her drug toxicity levels were at the time.
