Kids Cooking Classes Available For Santee's Future Chefs

If you want to your kiddos to learn how to cook, look no further than this City of Santee class!

SANTEE, CA — The city of Santee Parks and Recreation Department is offering a cooking class specifically for children. Starting Wednesday, a culinary class is opening up for aspiring young chefs, a city spokesperson said. The class is appropriate for kids between the ages of 5 and 12 years old, they said.

According to the city, classes are on Wednesdays from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and run from Feb. 5 through Feb. 26. Classes are at City Hall Bldg. 7, located at 10601 N. Magnolia Avenue. Register on the Santee Community Services website.

"Join us in a food adventure where we'll create culinary masterpieces like pizza toast and peach cobbler in our Kids Cooking: Culinary Creations class!"

Calling all aspiring chefs! Work as a team to create delicious culinary creations. The process is just as fun as the result. Recipes are NEW each 4-week session and include but are
not limited to:

  • Grandma’s peach cobbler,
  • pizza toast,
  • meatball sliders,
  • chocolate chip cookies,
  • cornflake biscuits,
  • French crepes with hazelnut,
  • homemade ice cream,
  • mac n cheese in a mug,
  • spa water,
  • baked churros,
  • and much more.

Another cooking session was planned for March, they said.
