​Man Arrested After Violent Meltdown At Santee Hair Salon Captured On Video

SANTEE, CA — A man was arrested after a video of his violent meltdown at a Santee hair salon went viral, authorities said Wednesday.

The man became violent and threatened employees after he was told he was late for his appointment shortly before 7 p.m. Jan. 29 at Great Clips at 9665 Mission Gorge Road, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office.

The incident was captured on cell phone video and shared on various social media platforms. The man vandalized the store and threw shampoo bottles at employees while yelling obscenities at them, officials said. One employee suffered minor injuries.

Although the man left the salon before sheriff's deputies arrived, authorities were able to identify him as August Marriott, 27, thanks to tips from the public.

Marriott was arrested Tuesday in Chula Vista and booked into San Diego Central Jail on suspicion of multiple charges, including assault with a deadly weapon, vandalism and violation of parole.
