Man Stabbed To Death In East County
Stephen Matthews, 29, of La Mesa was found and arrested at the scene on suspicion of homicide, according to the El Cajon Police Department.
EL CAJON, CA — A man was arrested after stabbing another man to death during an altercation in an El Cajon apartment complex parking lot, authorities said.
The altercation happened around 5:30 p.m. Saturday in the 900 block of South Sunshine Avenue, according to the El Cajon Police Department.
During the altercation, one of the men stabbed the other, police Lt. Eric Thornton said. The 59-year-old victim from El Cajon was taken to a hospital, where he later died. His identity was not released.

The suspect, identified as 29-year-old Stephen Matthews of La Mesa was found and arrested at the scene on suspicion of homicide, Thornton said. His extensive criminal history includes assault with a deadly weapon and firearm charges.
