Motorcyclist Ejected, Killed In Crash In East County

The impact of the crash caused the rider to be ejected onto the roadway, according to the CHP.

SANTEE, CA — A motorcyclist was killed in a crash with a truck in San Diego's East County, authorities said Tuesday.

The crash happened at 8:49 p.m. Monday when a 2024 Harley Davidson motorcycle crashed into the back of a 2006 Ford F-150, according to the California Highway Patrol. Both the motorcycle and truck were headed southbound on state Route 67, north of Woodside Avenue in Santee.

"The impact of the crash caused the rider of the Harley Davidson to be ejected onto the roadway," officials said. "The Ford and Harley Davidson came to rest on the west descending dirt embankment. Passing motorists provided lifesaving measures to rider of the Harley Davidson."

The motorcyclist, a 27-year-old man from Sun City, was taken to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where he later died, the CHP said. The driver of the truck, a 46-year-old man from Lakeside, was not injured in the crash.

It was unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash, which remained under investigation.
