Santee Summer Concerts To Continue Despite Teen Brawl
"Our highest priority in an event setting is safety," the city said.
SANTEE, CA — Santee Summer Concerts will continue Thursday after a teen brawl broke out during last week's event, the city announced.
Roughly 1,500 people, including about 100 unsupervised teens, attended the concert series kickoff event June 15 at Town Center Community Park. Two people suffered minor injuries and eight suspects were identified in connection with the fight involving teenagers, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.
"Our highest priority in an event setting is safety," the city said in a news release. "The city of Santee staff, fire department and Santee sheriff's department met early this week to discuss the incident and ways to implement additional safety protocols at this week's concert to help mitigate any future incidents."

The 39th annual Santee Summer Concerts will continue with Cassie B Project performing hits from the 90s. The band is scheduled to take the stage at 6:30 p.m. at Town Center Community Park East at 550 Park Center Drive.
This week's concert will offer two new unloading and loading zones, according to the city. One zone will be at the YMCA foot bridge and the other will be at the main parking lot at Town Center Community Park East. The west foot bridge behind Sportsplex USA will serve as an exit only. Concertgoers will not be able to enter the park from that foot bridge.
