Stabbing Suspect Arrested Following Violent Freeway Attack In East County

The attack happened on the northbound shoulder of state Route 67 in the Lakeside area, according to the California Highway Patrol.

LAKESIDE, CA — A man was arrested over the weekend after stabbing another man on the shoulder of a freeway in the Lakeside area of San Diego County, authorities said Tuesday.

The suspect, later identified as Noah Kane, was driving a black 2024 Ford F-150 around 6:15 p.m. Friday when he forced the driver of a gray 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee onto the northbound shoulder of state Route 67, north of Slaughterhouse Canyon Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Both drivers exited their vehicles and Kane produced a knife, then repeatedly stabbed the other driver, the CHP said.

After the assault, Kane fled the scene in the Ford F-150, while the driver of the Jeep remained on the scene and was taken to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. His name and age were not released.

Kane was arrested by the CHP's Border Division Major Crimes Unit around 1:45 a.m. Saturday in Poway. He was booked into San Diego County Jail.

His age was not immediately available.
