Trout Re-Opener Event Slated This Weekend At Santee Lakes

SANTEE, CA — The annual Trout Re-Opener is slated this weekend at Santee Lakes.
Santee Lakes will be stocked with 3,500 pounds of trout for the two-day event, according to event organizers. Lakes 2, 3, 4, 6 and 7 will be stocked with Golden Rubies, also known as Lightning Trout, as well as Steelheads.
"This is a great family-friendly outdoor event," organizers said in a news release. "Whether you're an avid angler or fishing for the first time, we hope you give Santee Lakes a visit."

The event is scheduled from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 10-11 at Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve at 9310 Fanita Parkway in Santee. On-site restaurant, Topwater Grill, will open at 6:30 a.m. both days.
Gate entrance is $7 per car. Permits cost $10 for adults and $6 for juniors and seniors. A second pole stamp is $4.
