Two Arrested After Woman in Santee Awakened by Intruder

A man and a 16-year-old are arrested early Friday morning after being found with stolen items.

A Santee woman awakened early Friday morning by a male intruder who entered her bedroom fled her home on Heatherdale Street and called 911, and two males were arrested nearby a short time later, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies responded to the report of a “hot prowl” burglary around 1:46 a.m. and set up a perimeter around the 9100 block of Heatherdale Street, according to Sgt. Curt Goldberg. Deputy Derek Ralph located two males two streets away who were found to be in possession of items stolen from the home, Goldberg said. One was an adult and the other a 16-year-old, and they were both arrested.

One of the suspects was not wearing shoes when they were stopped by Ralph, and a pair of shoes along with more property stolen from the home were found nearby, according to Goldberg.
