Guitar Beating Lands Scotts Valley Man in Jail
A local transient made his way to Santa Barbara...then to jail.

Jeremy Harp, a Scotts Valley transient, was arrested in Santa Barbara on Sunday afternoon after beating a man with a guitar.
According to BailOnDemand.com, Harp, 32, is being held on $30,000 bail for an assault with a deadly weapon charge.
At 2:30 p.m., Harp was drinking with a group of transients when he became angry with a man for "touching his stuff," KION reported. Harp then grabbed a guitar neck and beat the man at least five times over the head. He used so much force that the tuning piece of the guitar neck broke off.

BailOnDemand.com reported that Harp struck the man as many as eight times and was also arguing with the victim's girlfriend.
After the assault, Harp took off on foot but was found by Officer Aaron Denbrook, who booked him on the felony charge.

The victim suffered "a large laceration and several small lacerations on his head, and was treated at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital," BailOnDemand.com reported.
