Hide Your Dogs — Scotts Valley Talks Animal Limits
Enforcement might be scarce, but there are laws as to how many dogs live in each household in Scotts Valley.

Turns out there's a municipal code for everything, including the number of dogs and overall pets allowed per household in Scotts Valley.
At Wednesday's meeting of the Scotts Valley City Council, there will be a discussion regarding the current code and changes that could be made.
Currently, it is only legal to own two dogs in a single family residential home in the city limits, two dogs in a multiple-family residence, four dogs in a rural residential home and four dogs in a residential mountain home.

There are exceptions for veterinarians and dog kennel operators.

Enforcement of these laws is scarce, at least in Scotts Valley. But it's valuable information nonetheless, for locals to know whether or not they are in violation of the city code.
