Mountain Lion Sighting In Scotts Valley: Police

Police are informing Scotts Valley residents of a mountain lion sighting in a local neighborhood in the past few days.

UPDATED 10:55AM WEDNESDAY-

SCOTTS VALLEY - Police are informing Scotts Valley residents of a mountain lion sighting in the Skypark neighborhood just north of Mt. Herman Road.

In a brief Nixle post, Scotts Valley police say a mountain lion was been seen near the parallel bars along the Linear Park Trail that surrounds the Skypark neighborhood at approximately 12:45 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. Tuesday.

Police say the lion was also seen Monday but not reported to police.

Scotts Valley police are urging residents and visitors of the Skypark area to use caution while walking pets or small children along the Linear Park trail.

If you see the cat, you're asked to call Scotts Valley police at 831-440-5670. If it is an emergency, dial 9-1-1.
