Police To Enforce Traffic Violations As School Opens In Scotts Valley
Officers will participate in what the department describes as "Operation Safe Passage" during the next two weeks.

SCOTTS VALLEY, CA — The Scotts Valley Police Department will be strictly enforcing traffic violations in all local school zones during beginning of the school year, police said. Officers will participate in what the department describes as "Operation Safe Passage," running Aug. 21 through Sept. 1, to help ensure the safety of children as they return to school.
Officers will focus on speeding vehicles, failure to yield to pedestrians, jaywalking, student cyclists without helmets or with improperly worn helmets, seatbelt and child restraint violations, cell phone and texting violations and stop sign violations, police said.
