Scotts Valley School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Scotts Valley is August 21. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Scotts Valley Unified School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

• 8/17: Professional Development Day
• 8/18: Teacher Work Day
• 8/21: First Student Day
• 8/30: Brook Knoll Back-to-School Night
• 8/31: Vine Hill Back-to-School Night

September

• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)
• 9/7: SVMS Back-to-School Night
• 9/13: SVHS Back-to-School Night

October

• 10/27: Elementary Trimester Ends

November

• 11/6 - 11/9: Grades TK-5 Minimum Days (Conferences)
• 11/10: No School (Veterans’ Day Observed)
• 11/17: SVMS First Trimester Ends
• 11/20 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Days)

December

• 12/18 - 12/21: SVHS Finals
• 12/21: SVHS Semester Ends
• 12/22 - 1/5: No School (Winter Break)

January

• 1/1 - 1/5: No School (Winter Break)
• 1/8: School Resumes
• 1/15: No School (Martin Luther King, Jr. Day)

February
