Woman Accused Of DUI For Crash On Highway 17
Cristine Spindler, 40, was allegedly driving the wrong way on the highway when she collided with a Honda Accord.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — A 40-year-old Los Angeles woman was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol after driving the wrong way on state Highway 17 in Scotts Valley and causing a crash on Thanksgiving, California Highway Patrol officials said today.
Cristine Spindler was arrested for the crash reported at 4:39 p.m. Thursday on northbound Highway 17 near Granite Creek Road, according to the CHP. Officers responded to several calls of a vehicle traveling south in the northbound lanes and then a report of a collision on the highway just north of Mt. Hermon Road.
Investigators determined Spindler was traveling south in her Mazda CX-5 in the northbound lanes and collided with a Honda Accord traveling north with a 69-year-old Santa Cruz man behind the wheel, CHP officials said.
