101 Freeway Chase Ends With PIT Maneuver

The chase began in the Ventura area and ended in Sherman Oaks where the suspect was taken into custody.

SHERMAN OAKS, CA — A man led police on a chase from Ventura County to Sherman Oaks along the Ventura (101) Freeway Tuesday afternoon before the California Highway Patrol got him with a PIT maneuver.

The driver was wanted for allegedly failing to stop at a stop sign, according to the CHP.

The man driving a silver sedan made his way on the southbound Ventura Freeway to the Encino area by about 2:40 p.m., according to the CHP. It was five minutes later that a CHP SUV performed a PIT maneuver on his vehicle in the area of Woodman Avenue. The move disabled the vehicle, and the driver surrendered to the police.
