Actor Michael Madsen Ordered By Judge To Attend AA Meetings
Actor Michael Madsen, who's facing 2 DUI charges after a March arrest in Malibu, was ordered by a Van Nuys judge to attend AA meetings.
VAN NUYS, CA -- Actor Michael Madsen, who's facing two misdemeanor DUI charges stemming from a March arrest in Malibu, was ordered on Monday to attend at least two weekly Alcoholics Anonymous meetings while his case is pending.
A Van Nuys judge also ordered Madsen not to drive with any measurable alcohol in his system, and not to refuse to take any drug and alcohol or field sobriety tests.
The actor, whose film credits include ``Kill Bill,'' ``Hateful Eight'' and ``Reservoir Dogs,'' was arrested March 24 by Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies after his vehicle struck a pole. He was also arrested on suspicion of DUI in Malibu in 2012.

Madsen's attorney appeared on the 61-year-old actor's behalf on Monday, but did not enter a plea for his client. Arraignment was postponed to June 11.
Madsen could face up to 364 days in jail if convicted of one count each of driving under the influence of alcohol within 10 years of another DUI offense and driving with a 0.08 percent blood-alcohol content within 10 years of another DUI offense.

In the latest case, Madsen's attorney said after the arrest that his client's accident was related to side effects to medication that he was taking under a doctor's care.
