Explosion Rocks Boston Marathon; 3 from Sherman Oaks Listed in Race
Three from Sherman Oaks and two from Van Nuys were entered in this year's race.
Two people are dead and many more are injured as the result of a pair of explosions near the finish line of Monday's Boston Marathon, according to the Boston Police Department.
Details about the sources of the explosions have yet to be confirmed, however, CNN is reporting that the area is being investigated as a crime and scene and the Associated Press reports that two non-detonated improvised explosive devices were found along the route.
The Boston Police Department announced during a press conference that a third explosion took place at the JFK Library, several miles from the finish line.

More than 20,000 officially runners officially entered this year's race, including some local residents.
Three from Sherman Oaks, Ray Barrios, 46; Paul Hammerton, 59 and Michael Hufstader, 28 were also listed as being in the Boston Marathon.

The explosions occurred at around 4:09:44 and the average running time is 4:18, so they were geared to occur when most people were arriving at the finish line.
Barrios finished at 03:34:01. Paul Hammerton finished at 03:13:48. Michael Hufstader finished at 02:54:57.
On Facebook, Barrios's brother Gerardo posted his results.
Robert Leonardo, 50 of Van Nuys, was listed as finished at 02:44:40. Ric Munoz, 55, of Van Nuys, finished at 03:35:50.
