Firefighters Contain Seven Acre Brush Fire In Sepulveda Basin
Flames burned in three separate locations both above and below Burbank Boulevard near Woodley Avenue.
VAN NUYS, CA — Firefighters managed to contain a brush fire that burned 7 acres in three different locations of the Sepulveda Basin Friday afternoon. The fire was reported around 1:45 p.m., prompting an air and ground response from 108 firefighters.
Fires sprang up on both the north and south side of Burbank Boulevard near Woodley Avenue. The flames mostly burned through vegetation, and did not threaten any people or buildings.
Burbank Boulevard remains closed between Sepulveda Boulevard and Woodley Avenue while LAFD performs mop-up duty. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
