A half-acre grass fire in the hills of Sherman Oaks was quickly extinguished by Los Angeles Firefighters, according to LAFD spokesman Brian Humphrey.
The small brush fire was heading toward Mulholland Drive, according to Rick McClure, a freelance photographer.
The fire was near 14810 Jadestone Drive and was slow moving because winds were "light and from the north," Humphrey said. Ground and air teams worked on extinguishing the blaze in less than half an hour Monday afternoon.
"About 30 firefighters responded, it was handled in 24 minutes, no injuries, no structures threatened and no evacuation necessary," Humphrey said. "The fire is contained. The cause is under investigation."
