Knife-Wielding Man Killed By LAPD Near Van Nuys Boulevard
Los Angeles Police officers shot and killed a man in Panorama City Wednesday.
PANORAMA CITY, CA — Los Angeles police shot and killed a knife-wielding man Wednesday near Van Nuys Boulevard in Panorama City.
Officers responded to reports of a man threatening people with a knife in the 8700 block of Tobias Avenue at about 2:20 p.m., said Los Angeles Police Department Officer Carlos Maldonado.
"Officers arrived, and they encountered a suspect — a man in his 20s — armed with a knife," Maldonado said.

They attempted to use less-than-lethal measures, but ultimately shot the suspect, he said.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics arrived to treat the suspect and determined that he had died, Maldonado said.
Authorities did not immediately release the identity of the suspect.
