Eric Sondheimer from the Los Angeles Times blog recently pointed out that the Sherman Oaks Little League should have won a Little League World Series a couple years ago.
Two top pitchers on the all-star team are trying to lead their high school teams to City Section and Southern Section Division I championships: Jack Hartman (Cleveland) and Jack Flaherty (Harvard-Westlake).
Nathan Hadley of Loyola also played in the league and was a teammate of Studio City's Harvard-Westlake's No. 2 pitcher, Conor Cuse. Also in the league were Harvard-Westlake's standout catcher, Arden Pabst, and outfielder Alex Horowitz.And Cleveland starters Andrew Devian and Harley Faye were Sherman Oaks all-stars as 12-year-olds.
From the Sherman Oaks majors of 2007, 10 players are going to NCAA DI colleges: Cuse (Stanford), Flaherty (North Carolina), Hartman (Pennsylvania), Horowitz (Butler), Pabst (Georgia Tech), Faye (San Francisco), Andy Frakes (Crespi, San Francisco), Hadley (UCLA), Eddie Muhl (Notre Dame, George Washington), Christian Keamy (Crespi, Gonzaga).
