VAN NUYS, CA — A SWAT team and vice unit detectives detained at least 18 people Thursday night while serving a search warrant at what authorities called an illegal Van Nuys gambling spot. The warrant was served at around 6:50 p.m. in the 14500 block of Archwood Street, near the intersection of Vanowen Street and Van Nuys Boulevard. According to KCAL9, police dragged several people out of the building, while other suspects hid in the rafters. It's the latest raid of an illegal gambling operation in the Valley. In September, LAPD conducted another <a href="https://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2020/09/03/lapd-raids-alleged-illegal-gambling-operation-in-north-hills/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">raid</a> of a North Hills home for the same reason.
