Tory Lanez Ordered To Avoid Megan Thee Stallion
The rapper appeared before a Los Angeles judge via phone this morning, and arraignment was postponed until November 18.
HOLLYWOOD HILLS, CA — A judge Tuesday ordered recording artist Tory Lanez to stay away from Megan Thee Stallion while he awaits arraignment on felony assault and gun charges. The Canadian rapper is accused of shooting the Stallion after a party in the Hollywood Hills on July 12.
Lanez appeared before the judge by phone this morning. Arraignment, originally scheduled for today, was delayed until November 18.
Megan Thee Stallion has maintained that Tory Lanez shot at her feet while she was attempting to leave their SUV after an argument. The District Attorney's Office said Lanez got into an argument with a "female friend" while riding in an SUV and fired several shots at her feet as she left the vehicle.

In an op-ed published in the New York Times, Thee Stallion wrote that she was "recently the victim of an act of violence by a man" and that she was initially silent about what had happened "out of fear for myself and my friends."
"Even as a victim, I have been met with skepticism and judgment," she wrote. "The way people have publicly questioned and debated whether I played a role in my own violent assault proves that my fears about discussing what happened were, unfortunately, warranted."

Other celebrities have also distanced themselves from Lanez. Kehlani, who released the song "Can I" alongside the Canadian rapper two months before the incident, recently removed him from the song and replaced it with her own new verse.
Tory Lanez continues to claim his innocence. He appeared to reference the incident on his recent album Daystar, rapping "How the f--- you get shot in your foot ... don't hit no bones or tendons?"
Tory Lanez could face up to 22 years and eight months in state prison if convicted.
