Valley Of Change Uplifts Black Voices With 'December Of Change'

The organization launched a two week initiative challenging neighbors to invest in the Black community.

SHERMAN OAKS, CA — Over 200 days after their first protest, the Valley of Change continues to work to empower the Black community and give allies a way to further the movement. The organization launched a new 'December of Change' initiative, hoping to inspire residents to do one new thing a day to uplift Black voices.

Challenges include buying a book from a Black author, watching films such as Coming To America and Thirteenth, and donating to Black community organizations. For the final December 31 mission, Valley of Change challenges you to base your New Years' Resolution around supporting everything Black-owned in 2021.

"Investing in the Black community is a year-round, perpetual mission," the organization wrote. "But, every lifelong goal requires daily action (and doing something everyday to be the change!!) Learning the truth about the past helps empower us to invest in a brighter future for the Black and Brown communities this country has so often left behind."
