Several young males dressed in hoodies rang the doorbell of the home around 12:45 a.m. When the home owner answered he saw one person fleeing from the front yard of his home and one from the side yard. He called the police as did his neighbor, who provided the account of what the suspects were wearing.
One suspect ended up fleeing on foot while the other left in the car they were driving. Police set up containment and pulled over the suspect driving the car, while the one on foot escaped.
The Sierra Madre Police Department arrested the suspect on attempted burglary charges. The name of the suspect was not immediately available.
The department arrested one person for burglary on Monday and two others last week. The city has seen seven burglaries or attempted burglaries in the last week, according to the crimereports.com website.
