Crime Blotter: Altercation Breaks Out Over Romantic Entanglement

A physical altercation was reported that police say "was generated by a dating relation each has had with the same female."

Crime blotter information provided by the Sierra Madre Police Department.

Wednesday July 10, 2013

At approximately 9pm, a resident (victim) was approached by an acquaintance (suspect) as he sat on a bench in front of 65 North Baldwin Avenue.  The suspect was immediately confrontational demanding that the victim stand up and face him. When the victim stood, the suspect pushed him back onto the bench and then wrapped his arm around the victim’s neck.  The suspect released his hold after a few moments but continued shouting at the victim.  Three individuals, who were with the suspect when the incident began, then walked him away from the location.   The victim did not sustain any visible injury but did complain of soreness to his neck.  It is believed that the argument was generated by a dating relation each has had with the same female.
