Baby Delivered in Car on Way to St. Francis Medical Center
After she began labor, the mother-to-be told her husband to pull the car over, and the baby was delivered in a parking lot in Cudahy.

For the second time in 24 hours in the Los Angeles area, a baby beat the starter's gun, this time arriving prematurely Thursday in the family car in Cudahy.
A baby girl was born in a parking lot in the 7500 block of Atlantic Avenue after her mother went into premature labor around midnight.
A member of the infant's family told a videographer at the scene that the-then three members of the family, husband, wife and wife's mother, were en route to St. Francis Medical Center in Lynwood when labor began and the baby's head appeared.

The mother-to-be told her husband to pull the car over, and the baby was delivered by her mother, in the parking lot.
The birth was complete by the time a paramedic unit from the Los Angeles County fire department arrived.

Mother and baby were taken to their original destination. Their condition was not known.
This was the second early morning roadside birth in the Los Angeles region this week.
