Local Assembly Member Appointed to Parks & Wildlife Board

Anthony Rendon is now part of the Wildlife Conservation Board and the State Park & Recreation Commission.

Assembly Member Anthony Rendon (D-Lakewood), who represents both South Gate and Lynwood in the California State Assembly, has been appointed to the Wildlife Conservation Board and the State Park & Recreation Commission.

“California’s wildlife and state parks attract millions of visitors to our state every year,” said Rendon in a statement.  “They are the crown jewels of the state and I will be proud to work to preserve them.”

The main responsibilities of Wildlife Conservation Board (WCB) is to choose, approve and set aside moneys for the acquisition of land and waters appropriate for leisure purposes, as well as the conservation, defense and renovation of wildlife habitat.

The State Park and Recreation Commission has various authorities and functions, among them the establishing general policies that help guide for the Director of State Parks.

Assembly Speaker John A. Pérez made this appointment, according to a statement by Rendon’s office.
