Lynwood Unified To Host Job Fair for Construction Projects

The following information was taken from a Lynwood Unified School District  (LUSD) press-release. Applicants from Lynwood and South Gate are among the cities that will be given preferential treatment.

WHAT:The Lynwood Unified School District will host a job fair to recruit qualified, local carpenters, laborers, operators and cement masons for two construction projects taking place at Washington and Lincoln elementary schools. Under LUSD’s $93 million Measure K bond, dozens of portable classrooms on the campuses will be removed and replaced with state-of-the-art permanent classroom facilities.

Candidates with experience in the following trades will be considered: site clearing and demolition; building demolition; site surveying and staking; soil stabilization (compaction grouting); excavation and grating; wet utilities (including storm drainage, sewer, domestic water, fire service water); landscaping and irrigation; steel reinforcement; site concrete; asphalt paving; signage and striping; playground surfacing; playground equipment; chain-link gates and fencing; site electrical; low voltage systems; misc metals (railings and handrail); and fire alarm.

Candidates must reside in Lynwood (90262) or the adjacent cities of South Gate (90280), Willowbrook (90059, 90061), Compton (90221, 90220) and Paramount (90723).
