Isolated Rains Expected to Last Through Tuesday

The National Weather Service issued a special weather statement warning of windy AND rainy conditions that are expected to continue through Tuesday.

A low pressure system moving into the area will bring "cold, showery and windy condtions to southwest California through Tuesday," the NWS statement reads.

Thunderstorms are also possible and could produce "brief but heavy downpours." The inclement weather is expected to taper off on Tuesday afternoon.

Here's South Gate and Lynwood's 7-day forecast, according to NWS:

• This Afternoon: Isolated showers. Mostly sunny, with a high near 70. Southwest wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
• Tonight: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 57. West southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light west northwest in the evening.
• Wednesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 68. Light southwest wind becoming west southwest 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon.
• Wednesday: NightMostly cloudy, with a low around 58. West southwest wind 10 to 15 mph becoming light in the evening.
• Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 69. Light southwest wind becoming south southwest 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.
• Thursday Night: Patchy fog after 11pm. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 59.
• Friday :Patchy fog before 11am. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 72.
• Friday Night: Patchy fog after 11pm. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 59.
• Saturday: Patchy fog before 11am. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 80.
• Saturday Night: Patchy fog after 11pm. Otherwise, partly cloudy, with a low around 62.
• Sunday: Patchy fog before 11am. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 83.
• Sunday Night: Patchy fog after 11pm. Otherwise, partly cloudy, with a low around 62.
• Monday: Patchy fog before 11am. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 83.
