Photos and Video: The Story of Carlos Bulosan

Dozens gathered at the South Pasadena Public Library for a Thursday evening showing of the play "Allos: The Story of Carlos Bulosan," which focused on the life of a Filipino immigrant who eventually became a poet, author and activist.

The East West Players Theatre for Youth production featured Josef Malonzo as Bulosan, but also every other role in the short play, including his brothers, his bosses and even people who attacked him when he came to the U.S.

The performance was followed by a short question-and-answer session with Malonzo, playwright Giovanni Ortega and director Dom Magwili.
