* We've come a long way baby. When the 1959 movie came out, it was quite controversial due to alleged violations of the Hays Code, a self regulating attempt by the motion picture association to avoid government censorship. Films dealing with homosexuality, cross dressing, interracial relationships were prohibited. Hence, "Some Like It Hot" was banned in several areas e.g. the entire state of Kansas.
