Shanna has prune-belly syndrome, a condition that has left her with only one functioning kidney. According to her parents, Jeff and Maureen Learned, Shanna is bright, artistic and very much looking forward to her upcoming trip. She told Patch that she's wanted to swim with dolphins since "forever."

Ralphs has launched a line of cookies and waffles to raise money for the Make-A-Wish foundation, and also gave Shanna a grocery-store sweep so that she could gather candy, toys and beach reading for her vacation in the sun.
