Chet Manchester Speaks About 'Peace, Be Still' at Church of Christian Science

A planned talk on June 16 explains how to do more than cope.

How do you experience calm in the midst of life’s storms?  According to inspirational speaker, Chet Manchester, the answer lies in understanding the practical application of Jesus’ words, “Peace, be still.”

“This humble healer had a constant awareness of what he called ‘the kingdom of God’ – or the spiritual laws of harmony always in operation.  These laws are just as accessible to us today as they were 2000 years ago.  They’re the basis of personal and global healing.”

A former creative director who’s lived and worked around the world, Manchester offers compelling examples of how people have found calm in the midst of crises, including a woman swept up in a tsunami, a man in the throes of a heart attack, and how he dealt with a failed business venture and a resulting health crisis.

Manchester will give a free talk entitled “Spiritual Calm in a Crisis” on Saturday, June 16th, 2912 at 2 p.m. at 36th ,  4032 Whitsett Avenue, Studio City. Light refreshments will be served starting at 1:30 p.m.

“People can do more than cope with crises” he insists, “They can find both peace and healing.”  He credits 19th century American author, Mary Baker Eddy, with teaching him. “Eddy’s book, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, has helped millions of readers worldwide discover spiritual solutions for their lives and reacquaint themselves with the Bible as a practical resource for healing.”
