Erika Leon, of Toluca Lake, Graduates From Colorado College

Erika Leon graduated with a bachelor's degree in Art from Colorado College.

Leon is the daughter of H. Frank Leon and Margarita Manduley of Toluca Lake.

The college awarded 525 undergraduate degrees and five master of arts in teaching degrees at its 130th commencement ceremony, held on May 21 outdoors on Armstrong Quad.

Musician Abigail Washburn, a 1999 graduate of Colorado College, addressed the Class of 2012. In addition to Washburn, Colorado Lt. Gov. Joseph Garcia and legendary jazz guitarist Johnny Smith also received honorary degrees.

Colorado College is a nationally prominent, four-year liberal arts college that was founded in Colorado Springs in 1874. Local students named to CLU Dean's List

Scholars maintained 3.6 GPA. The following local residents were among 554 students who made the Dean's Honor List at California Lutheran University for the fall semester.

Thomas Manella of North Hollywood is a sophomore and a criminal justice major.

Manartha Griffin of Studio City, is a senior and a theater an arts major.

Students qualify for the Dean's List by maintaining a 3.6 grade point average in their academic subjects.

Nathaniel Ludewig Named to Dean's List at Emory College

Nathaniel Ludewig of Toluca Lake, Calif., son of David Ludewig and Robin Ludewig, was named to the Dean's List of Emory College, the undergraduate, liberal arts college of Emory University in Atlanta, Ga., for the 2011 fall semester.

Students must be in the top 20 percent of Emory College or have approximately a 3.81 grade point average or higher to be named to the Dean's List.
